That would be such a wonderful honeymoon.
A con may be the price.
soo romantic:)
i think its great all together!
I know a great apartment to rent for about $450 per week (probably cheaper per day to rent for a month). Email me if you want to know more. It’s in Montmartre. If you really want to pay more and live it up, I also know a great apartment in the best part of Paris.
i think it would be great! everyday for that month wake them up by saying Godd morning my love, i love you even more today then i did yesterday ok? OK???
all the hotels/apts near the Champs Elysees are way more expensive than the ones in the outskirts of paris…..its nice but practice ur french because most french people dont like english people and will treat u kinda bad if u speak english……AND TAKE A LOT OF MONEY!!!!! the euro is worth way more than the dollar so everything is way more expensive….Hope that Helps!!!1
Pro: Paris is indeed a romantic city, and deserves that much time to be explored. My sweetie and I spent a week there and spent 5 days in the Louvre alone because we were so determined to see it. We could easily have spent twice that amount of time. If you can afford to take a month off of work for a honeymoon you must have the finances to consider it. Also Paris is a city that has many facets, art, history, culture, fashion, nightlife, jazz, you will both get to see what each other likes.
Con: My only con is do not go in the dead of summer or winter. Spring or fall would be the best, as the light and sunshine make a big difference….
EDIT- True. Sorry, I was thinking living in france means needing a visa but you don’t need one for under 90 days.
Let’s start out with the cons-
-I assume you’re american? The dollar is getting stronger but as of this moment the euro is still better… and obviously that could go either way. The cost of living in france is really very high; and Paris is still that much more expensive.
-Visas for France are actually kind of hard to get.
-Apartements can go as much as 2000 euros for a small studio …
-Culture Shock could ruin a honeymoon…
Other than cost…
I could think of 10001 more pros. Paris is a fantastic, vibrant city. I personally would go back and live on the streets just to be there. The energy and mood of the city is electric and romantic (perfect for a honeymoon ;] ) The culture, the musams, the exploring you’d be able to do… just within the city. And there are free entertainments as well!! Paris is also the transportation hub of France… from there, you can catch a train to spend a weekend in the country or on the cost, with nothing too far away… heck, train tickets are reasonable enough you could hop a train to london for an afternoon. You’ll be able to expose yourself to such a diverse and fantastic blend of people… and history… merde mais la france me manque gave, quoi…
(And really, culture shock isn’t THAT big of a deal ;] )
Basically if you can afford it and you’re open to new people, cultures, and willing to try to speak the language (Try- they appreciate it-) than you won’t regret a minute of it.
Bon Voyage
If you are an American and staying for a month on vacation, you do not need a visa. I’d suggest that you tour Europe for a month and not spend a whole month in Paris. 1-2 weeks is enough. Paris is nice, but there is more to Europe than just Paris. The person that mentioned culture shock is right. Though France is a western country, it is still different from the US/Canada and living in France is much different from just being a tourist. Other nice places to see: Nice, Milan, Munich, London,Dublin,Oslo, Copenhagen, etc. You might be able to save $, but still have a private room by renting both beds in a room in a hostel. I wouldn’t recommend the kind of hostel that has all of the beds in one room (kinda like barracks). If you really want to stay for a month, you could negotiate with a hotel ahead of time– do not assume that you have to multiply the nightly rate by 30 nights. Mom and pop hotels might give you a discounted rate if you stay 30 nights. There is a craigslist for paris but I cannot vouch for this method.
