How can I find an apartment for rent in Paris, France, near the Louvre, in a safe area that is quiet, fully furnished, and a reasonable size for myself and my mom at a great price per week?

Je ne parle pas Français très bien donc je poserai ma question en Anglais.

I’m going to live in Paris for a whole year commencing September. Looking for a spacious apartment with a maximum rent budget of 1200 euros. My question is , since I will be taking a train from Gare du Nord everyday to Villetaneuse, I’m wondering if you know of any Parisian zone that has metro station with a direct line to Gare du Nord. I tried pap.fr but apartments ads shown there are 90% of the time without pictures. I really need to find something good in a safe area.

I looked into areas 3,4,1 and 11 and I really don’t know if they have metro station with direct lines to Gare du Nord but I’m finding my self to be totally lost. I tried phoning two landlords. none spoke English which is understandable but it doesn’t help me since I’m not a very good speaker. Both of them said their apartments are already taken .

Please help me !!

I actually do not know anyone in Paris. And going there before finding an apartment might sound like the right decision but I have a cat and I assume it is going to be extremely difficult to find a hotel or some sort of short-term accommodation that accepts pets.

However, If you do know one , please don’t hesitate to tell me .

Any good reliable companies / websites that we help me find a short -term let of studio / 1 bed apartment, as we do not like the idea of staying in a Hostel due to previous experience.

Apartments in New York City are often hard to find. One of the major reasons is that there is rent control.
a. Demonstrate graphically how rent controls could make apartments hard to find.
b. Often one can get an apartment if one makes a side payment to the current tenant. Can you explain why?
c. What would be the likely effect of eliminating rent controls?
d. What is the political appeal of rent controls?

I’m currently renting a 2bd flat in London with a colleague. Our 1-year lease agreement expired in April. I asked the Letting Agent to renew it, but with a 6-month break clause. Now, I realise that the rental prices for our building have dropped. It’s a lot lower than what we are paying now, and I’m kicking myself for not asking the Agent to lower the rent. Is there any way for me to ask for lower rent now? Or, do I have to wait for another 6 months before breaking the lease?

I am visiting with my wife and we have never lived in the US before so may not have any credit history and social security and other stuuf…was wondering how difficult or easy it will be for us to find a short term rental in New York.
