How can I rent a small apartment in New York City to spend 2 weeks in?

I know that renting an apartment with a friend comes out a lot cheaper than staying at a hotel. What are good locations in New York City where I can rent one?
A location that’s safe, has many public transportation nearby and close to many New York City attractions.
I’m planning to go to New York City during my summer vacation with my daughter and friend, so It will only be us women!
Another thing is, when is it the best time to go, regarding the sales in stores and bargains.
Is August better than July, when it comes to everything being on sale?

What are the laws regarding renting an apartment for vacation in Key West, Florida?

I’ve secured a job placement for 3 months in New York later on in the year and need advice on renting an apartment. Is it possible to rent on a short lease without paying an incredibly high rate? i’ve looked at vacation rentals but they seem to work out at around $200/night and higher.

I need the answer to this pretty quickly. The question is, simply, is there a minimum age that one must be before being allowed to rent a New York City apartment?

Next year I’m moving to Paris, France on my own to attend an international school, so excited ;D
Anyway, I will be 16 and some of the schools I’m applying to don’t cater for boarders, I’m hoping to be accepted to one which will but you never know.
So, I need to know whether, if I become emancipated from my parents can I enter into a contract to rent an apartment? I know that under 18s cannot enter into a legal contract and I was wondering if I could if I was emancipated?
Also, if not, can my parents sign the contract but I live there?
